About us

Who we are - where we are - what we do - when we do it

Founded back in 1895, Stockton Bowling Club has a long history, too long to detail here. One of the oldest clubs in the area, Stockton Bowling Club has sadly seen many other clubs disappear from existence over the years - we have come close ourselves, but from adversity comes forth strength - and Stockton Bowling Club is rebuilding itself into one of the area's premier clubs once again.

Mission

We are actively recruiting new members at present.

Inclusion is our mission, ensuring that all members are given the same opportunities and game time as every other member.

This does not stop us from trying to win things - hopefully success will bring us more members and a brighter and more secure future.

We would love you to be part of that future, so please keep reading our information.

Taking part

Here at Stockton Bowling Club we bowl for the whole 12 months of the year.

Outdoor on our wonderful green during the warm summer months and indoor for the carpet bowls during the dark winter months.

We participate in almost all of the local outdoor leagues, including their competitions, one of which we always host.

We are active in the carpet bowls league and can proudly boast of being the only ones that enter more than one team.

Competing

We enter teams into the local outdoor leagues on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday evenings. These matches start at 6:30pm - and if you're not selected to play, there's nothing better than spectating. Accompanied of course by a cold one from our well stocked bar.

We are also members of the local Veterans league, who hold their matches on Friday afternoons at 1pm. To play in this league you must be aged 55 or over.

This of course leaves plenty of opportunities for a friendly roll-up with friends when there are no league games.

In the carpet bowls league, we always have one team playing at home every week on Thursday evenings, meaning that you could always pop in for a chat with friends.
