Carpet Bowls - Novice sessions
We will be running trial sessions for novice bowlers, beginning on Saturday 8th August. The sessions will run until the end of the outdoor season, but may continue if there is enough demand for them.
These sessions are aimed primarily at our novice members who have not carpet bowled previously.
However - if you would like to have a try at bowling, then please drop in for a free go on any of our Saturday morning sessions.

Rinks Tournament
This competition will take place at Elm Tree Bowling Club on Sunday 9th August, starting at 10:30am and lasting until around teatime. Food and refreshments will be available from arrival until late afternoon.
Although this is technically a fours competition, because of the duration of the event, each team is allowed to have 5 members and can rotate their players at the end of each match. The initial stage is played on a round-robin basis, meaning everyone will get a chance of a few games at least.
If you would like to take part, please add your name to the list in the entrance to the clubhouse. Entries cost £1 each which is excellent value for a days bowling.
The deadline for entries is Sunday 2nd August, please sign up before then.

Hepburn Trophy
APOLOGIES - but because of a lack of entries - due to other commitments - this competition has been cancelled - sorry for any inconvenience.
NEWS - to make up for the cancellation, we are organising two jumbles sessions as alternative events, on Tuesday July 28th and Tuesday 11th August.
These will start at 12 noon and finish at around 2:30pm.
Strachan Triples
Sunday 28th June - Our first one-day competition of 2026 and a good turnout of members, with a brilliant mixture of complete novices taking part in their first competitive match and our experienced bowlers. Lovely to see our "experts" being so patient with our learners and offering them gentle advice, I know they'll have appreciated it.
After a slight confusion with the scores on the scorecards and an accurate recount the winners were Team A - Andy Hollifield, Sid Adkin & Robbie Carson. Finishing second on shot difference were Team B - Hazel Hart, Kenny Jackson & Jackie Carson. The trophies will be presented tomorrow evening so that we can publish the photos on the website.
Carpet Bowls Presentations
Stockton Bowling Club hosted the 2026 Stockton & District Carpet Bowls League's Presentation Evening on June 26th.
There was an impressive turnout with most of the club's in the league represented by their members.
The Memorial Shield - the league's knockout competition - was won by Stockton Lions, who were also presented with the shield for being this season's league champions. Well done Lions & well done Stockton Bowling Club for a great night of entertainment.
Vet's Singles Competition
We hosted the Teesside Veterans Bowls League Singles competition on Tuesday 16th June.
The secretary of the league has asked us to pass on his gratitude to all those that helped out on the day, especially Carol & Debbie in the kitchen, with a special thank you to Tommy & Gary who stepped in at the last minute to take the places of two bowlers who failed to turn up for the competition.
As a club, we are just happy to take part in and watch some great bowling - but it's nice to know that our efforts are appreciated by the local bowling community.
Vet's Fours Competition
Another successful day for Stockton Bowling club in the Teesside Veterans Bowls League's Fours Competition at Smith's Dock.
Stella & Sid Adkin, Jeff Irish & Robbie Carson successfully negotiated the round robin stage, the quarter final & the semi final, to progress through to the Final's Day at Elm Tree on Friday 4th September.

Sunday Competition
We hosted the Cleveland & Teesside Bowls League's Stuart Waites Memorial Triples competition on Sunday 31st May. With 21 teams taking part, it was a great display of bowling, with every rink in use and more teams waiting for their turn to go on.
We provided hot and cold drinks as well as food throughout the day, including ice creams & lollies. It was nice to hear quite a few compliments regarding the food, so a big thank you to the ladies who worked tirelessly in the kitchen through out the day.
Finally, congratulations to our Stockton 'A' team, who were victorious in the final and picked up the trophy for the second year running.
